The Economics of Adulting

“Am I adulting yet?” Every millennial has asked themselves this catchphrase. It’s commonly heard from twenty-something-year-olds who have legitimate concerns on how to survive.

We are unprepared and scared for our well-being because our parents didn’t teach us personal finances or how to pick the right partner. Older generations made economic policies, such as Social Security and raising the national debt, that gambled away our future.

Why I Joined Praxis

Originally, I made plans to attend art school and become a fashion designer.

But I was filled with uncertainty so I decided to major in IT since I heard about people making six figures and they’re in demand.

My plans were to make a load of money then pursue a career in fashion.

However, I only lasted for two semesters as an IT major before I failed physics and Java programming and then switched majors to Business. But business didn’t work either. I dropped out halfway through my degree for several reasons. Continue reading Why I Joined Praxis

I Almost Busted Out Laughing During a Pararescueman’s Memorial Service

The immature middle schooler in me laughed. I couldn’t help it. I’ll try to keep this as PG as possible but if you haven’t noticed already look at his middle initial and last name. Read it slowly.

Now imagine being at a memorial service and it’s dead silent. You snort giggle in an attempt to keep it in. Continue reading I Almost Busted Out Laughing During a Pararescueman’s Memorial Service

Continue reading Degrees are Irrelevant There’s Other Paths to Success

Saturday Morning Solitude

As I head into work I remind myself to take in my surroundings and appreciate the little things in life. I also remind myself to appreciate the peaceful, still mornings.

When you feel stressed out find time for yourself even if it’s only for a few minutes before clocking in. Slow down and breathe in the new morning air, walk through a garden and enjoy the sight of blooming flowers. Continue reading Saturday Morning Solitude

Why Quit College?

Most high school graduates aren’t certain about their future, much less what they want to do for the rest of their lives. They don’t have much exposure to the real world, a fault that is not their own. Parents and public schools shelter them too much then expect them to function as adults immediately after graduation.

I’m not saying nobody should attend college. A degree is necessary for fields like STEM, law, medicine, accounting, or economics. Continue reading Why Quit College?

How to Break Through Writer’s Block

Do you face with the struggle of writing assignments or even small things like a simple email?

Many of us who graduate college struggle to write and communicate effectively. Schools don’t teach us to write like a human or how to properly email businesses and customers.

So how did I overcome writer’s block? Continue reading How to Break Through Writer’s Block

People Buy the Dumbest Things on eBay

About a week ago I received some Victoria’s Secret coupons for their Pink store and an idea popped into my head, “Would anyone buy this?”

I did what every good capitalist would do; put it up for auction on eBay! I actually did this as a joke because who in their right mind would buy coupons and think they’re saving money? Continue reading People Buy the Dumbest Things on eBay
