For this week’s project, I’ll be redesigning a website for Walkthrough.
Why am I doing this for free?
I’m doing this to get my foot in the door and gain work-related skills. The projects I’ve created demonstrates my ability to learn quickly and get things done.
The website for Walkthrough has a good set-up. It has a clean, easy to navigate website, and a simple design, all of which are necessary for a good website. But like anything, there is always room for improvement.
Take a look at the landing page. What do you see missing? Color. This page could use some zesty color! Landing pages are the face of a business and it’s the first thing people see when they research it, so it should be aesthetically pleasing and have just the right amount of information.
I’ve taken inspiration from another company called VocaWorks and it has a similar design like Walkthrough.
Likewise, I’ll choose colors according to the color wheel. I’ll stick with the blue color as shown on the website and make it the main color. The accenting colors will be an orange-yellow and violet-red mix.
I’ll design the website on Website Builder because it’s a free service and I want to see how it compares to Wix, which I’ve used before. It’s also much faster building a website on Website Builder versus attempting to learn HTML in one week.
I’ll post my finished project on Sunday so stay tuned!
