British Swim School Training Manual

I took the initiative in creating this training manual after I ran into problems with remembering the training provided by corporate.

About a month after I got hired I made a big mistake – my mind went blank at the most inconvenient time and I panicked trying to figure out how to reschedule a student in the JackRabbit management software. I completely own up to my big fat mistake, which was enough to make my boss furious with me.

I felt bad and guilty for causing this mess so I needed to come up with something good. I started taking notes at my boss’ suggestion and I realized I could create a booklet out of it.

I drew inspiration from my previous job at Brooks Brothers and from my mom’s job as a trainer at Magic Kingdom. Both jobs had a clear, concise list of things a new employee needs to go over and I realized this is how companies were able to maintain consistent customer service. So I sought to replicate that consistency.

Lia’s Headshots

My former co-worker asked me if I could take some professional headshots for her. She got her first headshots done by the company she was working at but was disappointed in the quality of the photographer. She explained to me how she looked awkward in her photos and that it was a rush job. So I took care to put her at ease by teaching her how to pose and gave her a preview of the photos before they were finalized.

British Swim School Photoshoot

I did a swim lesson photoshoot for my boss upon her request. Some of the photos were used on the British Swim School social media account. My boss discussed about wanting high quality photos to personalize our advertisements unique to our franchise location.

Hot Krust Photoshoot

One of the first professional photoshoots I did was for my employer Hot Krust. I looked through the company’s website and noticed that the food pictures weren’t appealing as they should be, so I asked my boss if I could do a shoot for him and it turns out that he was looking for someone to take beautiful photos. My photos were used for social media to advertise our menu selections.
