About

Hi nice to meet you! I’m Lena Wang and welcome to my blog.

For as long as I can remember I’ve had a creative streak and I loved to draw. As my style matured, I began exploring other means of creation like using Photoshop, photography, and writing as a way to express myself. My creative streak still lives on in the form of finding solutions to problems I face at work.

In 2014 I started my first semester at Valencia College. My original plan was to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design but it was too expensive despite earning scholarships that would cover a fourth of tuition.

In 2016 I decided to take a gap year from college. My mental health was declining and it was affecting my physical health, and for a year I focused on self-care and building up work experience.

I went to college expecting to learn practical skills but I soon discovered that wasn’t the case. For the most part, my classes felt like a waste of money because everything I learned could be found online for free.

Although I opted out of formal education, I undertook self-led learning by reading nonfiction books and attending economic seminars with well-known speakers like Ron Paul, Judge Andrew Napolitano, and Bryan Caplan.

Degrees don’t necessarily translate to success. I didn’t want to sit through another boring lecture and feeling uncertain about my future.

After taking a calculated risk, I opted out of college completely and joined Praxis, an entrepreneurial apprenticeship.

Fun fact: I was hired at Tesla’s Gigafactory without a degree.
