Is your closet overflowing with old clothes and stuff you don’t use anymore? List it on eBay. You’ll have less clutter and it’ll simplify your life.
I sell stuff on eBay and I’ve made money that helped cover my Praxis bills. If you want some extra spending money but don’t have the time, eBay is for you. It’s also free to join and list items for sale. Ebay takes a ten percent cut if you make a sale, but it’s a bargain compared to Amazon that charges you with selling fees and a monthly membership.
How to get started:
- Create a Paypal account. This will help prevent fraudulent transactions and scams.
- Take clear photos of your item.
- Fill out info about your item and be honest about the condition it’s in.
- Choose your price and shipping.
- List it and wait for it to sell.
- If it doesn’t sell then relist it. Be patient.
- If it sells then wait for the buyer to send money first through Paypal and then ship it. If a buyer asks to pay using another method like a money order, do not accept their offer because it’s most likely a scammer.
When your item sells, be sure to pack it correctly. If it’s fragile then wrap it in generous amounts of bubble wrap and stuff the empty spaces of the box with newspaper.
I reuse boxes that I get from Amazon orders, so don’t spend extra money on packaging since it’ll be thrown out anyway. The post office also has free boxes you can take. However, if your shipping method isn’t Priority Mail you must cover the exterior of the box so the USPS logo doesn’t show. It’s actually illegal to use USPS boxes for anything different than Priority Mail.
I’ve sold a variety of random items like old cameras, textbooks, Halloween costumes, purses, watches, and even Victoria’s Secret coupons. People will buy anything so don’t doubt yourself just list it. You’ve got nothing to lose.
