As I head into work I remind myself to take in my surroundings and appreciate the little things in life. I also remind myself to appreciate the peaceful, still mornings.
When you feel stressed out find time for yourself even if it’s only for a few minutes before clocking in. Slow down and breathe in the new morning air, walk through a garden and enjoy the sight of blooming flowers.
One of my favorite things in the morning is hearing the birds sing. I’ve noticed they sing different songs compared to afternoons or evenings. It’s always a good sign to hear the birds because it’s an indicator that life is abundant and everything will turn out alright.
Other people might find a morning jog or a walk in a forest works for them. There are many ways to appreciate the little things in life and I’ve found that observing nature works for me.
I encourage you to do this. You might find beauty in unexpected places or notice things like three species of bees gathering pollen from the same plants.
This post might sound cheesy to you but take an opportunity to reduce stress levels. Appreciating the little things in life will help you pay attention to detail too. Take it in, breathe the crisp morning air, hear the birds sing, tackle your day.
